Representatives of the Organizing Committee of the 24th 2021 Summer Deaflympics were welcomed by the Governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, on Monday, August 16, in an audience held at the Fernando Ferrari Administrative Center (CAFF), in Porto Alegre (RS ). Also with the presence of the State Secretary for Sport and Leisure, Danrlei de Deus, and other State Government advisors, the agenda discussed was related to financial and institutional support for the multi-sport event.
According to the Honorable President of the Committee, Paula Ioris, deputy mayor of Caxias do Sul, the governor was already aware of the event, but not of the dimension and grandeur of what will be held. “Now we have official numbers. Ewald, Executive Secretary (CEO), the meeting was extremely positive, where Leite assured the commitment of the State Government and its special attention to finding the necessary budget support. “We talked about the organization’s situation and what we need to ensure the success of this event, which is so important for Rio Grande do Sul. He clearly understands the situation and will provide his full cooperation.”
